When Stephen Sommers’ film ‘The Mummy’ was released in 1999, audiences, fans of adventure blockbusters and lovers of mysticism were absolutely delighted. This film made a real sensation and caused a wave of interest in sequels: in 2001, the second part was released, and in 2008 – the third. Surprisingly, but such success was a complete surprise for the creators, as the project raised five times more money than was spent on it.
The Mummy trilogy became a cultural phenomenon that truly captured the attention of the audience. A strong plot, impressive sets, top-notch acting and unique atmosphere – all this made the film a model of the adventure genre. Many modern paintings so and can not boast such a set of merits.
