Michael Douglas is now happily married to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, but before this marriage, he was married to Deandra Luker. He lived with Luker for almost two decades before they separated.
The divorce cost him a tidy sum. Keep reading to find out more.
Michael Douglas and his ex-wife Deandra Luker were together for 18 years before they decided to separate. Their divorce became the most expensive in Hollywood as Michael was ordered to pay his ex-wife $45 million.
Hollywood star Michael Douglas, 79, is known for his roles in iconic films such as Fatal Attraction and Wall Street. He has cemented his place as one of Hollywood’s most celebrated actors.
He was also awarded two Oscars, for ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ and for his role in ‘Wall Street.’

Today he is married to another Oscar-winning actor, 59-year-old Catherine Zeta-Jones. He and Zeta-Jones have two children – 23-year-old Dylan Douglas and 21-year-old Caris Zeta Douglas.
But marriage to Catherine is not the first for Douglas. He was previously married – a union that cost him dearly.
Michael Douglas recently achieved great success with the film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest when he and 68-year-old Deandra Luker said ‘I do’ to each other in 1977. A year later, their son Cameron Douglas was born.

Michael was rumoured to have had to pay his ex-wife as much as $45 million when they divorced years later in 2000.
In addition, she was given their shared residence in Santa Barbara, California. However, Deandra didn’t stop there. In 2011, she went to court again to demand even more money.
This time, Diandra claimed that she had been at her husband’s side when he made the film Wall Street, and therefore demanded that she get half of the proceeds he would receive from the sequel to the first film. But her lawsuit had serious repercussions as Michael Douglas had been diagnosed with cancer just two months earlier. Deandra was accused of demanding money from a sick man.

After all the hate she had to endure, she finally decided to speak out about the situation.
‘Michael didn’t know he was sick, I didn’t know he was sick, and the gods didn’t know he was sick,’ she said. She continued: ‘I don’t like to go after sick people for things that don’t belong to me.’
Deandra lost the case and thus received no new money from her ex-husband.
Diandra doesn’t seem to have any financial problems and until 2019, she was living in luxury in Mallorca.
Villa S’Estaca, which she previously shared with ex-husband Michael Douglas, is located in a picturesque location overlooking the cliffs of Sa Foradada and the sea. The house has 10 bedrooms, a loft, two cottages, terraces, a swimming pool, wine cellar and private access to the sea on a large 100-hectare plot, reports said.

In 2019, Douglas bought out Deandra’s share of the villa and since then she seems to have relocated to Ibiza, where she now spends a lot of time and shares numerous photos from there on her social media.
Living in Ibiza with her are 20-year-old twins Hudson and Hawke, who she gave birth to via surrogate from ex Zac Hampton Bacon III, and daughter Imara de Morrell Douglas, born in 2005, who Deandra adopted from Russia.

According to the New York Post, in 2022, Diandra also sold a flat in New York City for an astounding $17 million.
