Australian Kinsten Boshley became famous thanks to one photo posted online and her commentary on it

Australian woman Kinsten Boshley became famous thanks to one photo published on the Internet and her commentary to it. The photo shows a woman standing with her children on the beach, it would seem that we see nothing unusual, but this photo became a real breakthrough for Kinsten in a happy life without complex about her excess weight.

Before that, the woman tried to avoid lenses or ‘hide’ behind voluminous clothes, but eventually she got fed up with it and Kinsten published the very same, which became a landmark shot with her commentary:

‘Starting today, I will start living my life in a new way.

I will be grateful to my body and forget everything I had to do with it before:

  • contempt;
  • disgust;
  • anger;
  • frustration;
  • the desire to ‘reshape my body’ and make it perfect.

I have exploited the body mercilessly for over forty years, mocking both it and myself.

I was a strict accuser of the body in all things.

I was ashamed of myself, ashamed of the folds and the picture of cellulite.

I suddenly realised that I didn’t need to avoid camera lenses and phones, I needed to take more pictures with my kids, without any ‘hiding’ of myself.

I’m sick of it, now I’m going to be different!

I’m tired of hiding from myself, I’m going to completely let go of everything that has been bothering me about my body today, I’m going to stop hating it, stop expressing dissatisfaction with it, and just accept myself as I am.

This picture was taken by my husband, I asked him to do it myself, which he was surprised at first and then happily started clicking the shutter of the camera.

I got over myself and was pleased to be photographed without the wide dress, without the roomy breeches, without the bath towel, without further photoshop.

It’s just me and my kids in the shot, and that makes me infinitely happier.

And also – I am not ashamed at all, for the first time I was not ashamed of myself!

There is only happiness and positive emotions on the photo.

It’s a real freedom and a very pleasant feeling!’

Kinsten is really happy now, she has realised that all the years before she was just stiff and thought more about the reactions of others, although almost everyone is completely indifferent to how others look.

The woman tries to convey to the others suffering from any complexes her joy of freedom and help them to become the same, independent of other people’s opinions.

Of course, she is right. We live only once, and if we spend our lives adapting to other people’s opinions, we will have nothing to remember at the end of the year, and the years that have passed will seem like a single moment filled with fears and concerns.
