Wright Wallens is an example of courage and resilience to difficult life circumstances. When the boy was only five years old, he was attacked by two inadequate Rottweilers, who could easily cope with any adult man. As a result, Wright suffered numerous injuries, and his face suffered the most.
Doctors did everything they could to keep the toddler alive, and they succeeded, which cannot be said for his familiar appearance.
Wright’s face was disfigured, he underwent about fifty surgeries for skin grafts, plastic corrections, teeth restoration, etc. The main thing that the surgeons managed – the boy’s vision was preserved, although one eye does not see one hundred per cent.
Wallens showed himself not just resistant to such vicissitudes of fate, he turned out to be a real man, his mother is just proud of her son and tries to convey to him that an unusual appearance is not a verdict, you have to live with it and not consider yourself a second-class man.
Unfortunately, now that he has grown up and gone to school, Wright often has to overcome other people’s rejection of his appearance. Many simply turn away, and there are those who make caustic comments about someone who has already been through too much.
Let’s be tolerant of people like Wright, let’s help them not to feel lonely in this world. Even a little kindness and warmth in dealing with people with unusual looks will give them a lot more happiness than one can imagine.
