David once shared a cute photo of them hanging out on Instagram, which got fans buzzing with rumors that they might secretly be more than friends. But nope — Kelly married Mark Consuelos in 1996, shutting down any speculation that she and David were an item. They’re just good friends, and their bond is definitely one of those fan-favorite friendships.
Quality time together
Over the years, Kelly, Mark, and David have enjoyed several vacations together, including a memorable trip to Greece in 2023.
And every summer, David Muir joins Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, at their Hamptons home, where they enjoy quality time together. During an appearance on Live in November 2022, the World News Tonight anchor reflected on their summer traditions with Kelly.
”I kind of miss our weekends together,” Kelly admitted during the episode. David chimed in, reminiscing about the time they’d spend by the pool and having barbecues at the start of summer. Kelly also shared that her kids loved having David around, especially for the barbecues and other fun activities. It’s clear that their bond goes beyond work and into family-like territory.
”You are a great grill master; your cheeseburgers are delicious,” Kelly Ripa gushed during the episode. She added with a laugh, “Joaquin would rather eat at David’s than anywhere else on earth.”
Axel is a big part of his life
On his Instagram, David Muir has won the hearts of more than half a million with his charming selfies, sweet family updates, heartfelt moments with his dog, and behind-the-scenes snippets from World News Tonight.
One of the stars of his Instagram feed is Axel, his adorable German Shorthaired Pointer, who joined Muir’s life as a puppy in mid-2019.
Axel has grown into a big, lovable dog and often steals the spotlight on David’s grid. Wrapping up 2020 with a bit of reflection, David shared a photo of Axel with the caption: “Best thing about 2020 is that he had no idea it was 2020. He just grew. We all did.”
So, to sum it all up, it looks like those curious for details will have to wait for David Muir to confirm any potential relationship. But that doesn’t mean he’s alone – this stylish news anchor has plenty of friends and family by his side.
