This straight, happily married man loves to wear heels and skirts in his casual wardrobe.

Mark Bryan is a 61-year-old engineer from Germany who is not afraid to challenge gender stereotypes.

Although high-heeled shoes were originally intended for men in the 10th century to add height and fashion, they have apparently become associated almost exclusively with women.

Mark is one of many modern men who are bringing back the popular footwear look for those who weren’t born female.

Mark Bryan is a 61-year-old father of three who works as a robotics engineer and divides most of his time between fatherhood and work.

Looking at him, you wouldn’t immediately think the man has a following on social media, but the German native has caused a stir online lately with his bold outfits and images.

Mark has recently amassed nearly 660,000 followers with his posts on Instagram.

His looks often consist of shoes, boots and skirts. Mark’s various wardrobe items are accompanied by his own words in which he talks about how normal his clothes are.

The engineer believes that clothes should have no gender. He leans towards skirts rather than dresses to be able to wear more traditionally ‘masculine’ tops above the waist.

He rightly believes that things like skirts provide a wider range of variety than the typical slacks or trousers that most men wear to work.

Mark’s children support his efforts, especially since he raised them by clearly explaining that clothing is not an indicator of sexuality or gender.

His daughter is one of his biggest fans, waiting for the day when she can borrow some of her father’s clothing items.

Similarly, his wife is supportive of his choices and even helps him pick out outfits.

Of course, not everyone is sympathetic to him.

Mark faces various negative comments online and in person, and he has to frequently remind those around him that they wouldn’t make such comments or ask such questions if he wore more traditional trousers.

Do you think you could be in Mark’s shoes?
