Sometimes parents who have failed to achieve everything they would like in life try to fulfil their dreams in their own children. Often in such cases children are deprived of the right to choose and nothing good comes out of it.
But the main heroine of today’s material, whose name is Galina Loginova, managed to make her daughter a star of the world. And after all, the woman herself was an ordinary Soviet actress …
Loginova made her film debut in the Soviet saga ‘Shadows Fade at Noon’, where she played a minor role while studying at VGIK. But after that she began to be recognised. And when, having finished her studies, Galina returned to Kiev, she was quite a well-known actress.
It was only later that a fateful meeting happened in Galina’s life. She met Bogdan Jovovich, a Yugoslavian doctor. The woman fell in love and decided to tie her life to him.
After the wedding in 1974, Galina was no longer invited to the shooting. And all because of the fact that her husband was a foreigner. But a year later the couple had a daughter, who was named Milica or simply Milla.
Bogdan and Galina decided to emigrate. First, they lived in London for a while, and then moved to the USA. At this time, the USSR banned the screening of films with Loginova-Jovovich.
In the beginning, the family worked in the States as domestic servants for the famous film director Brian de Palma.
At the same time, Galina did everything to make her daughter famous. From a young age, Milla attended acting classes, went to a modelling school, learnt to dance and play the guitar. Galina became her daughter’s personal agent.
It is worth saying that this ruthless control gave its fruits. Already at the age of 11, Milla took part in the first photo shoot, and in 13 – for the first time starred in a film.
Perhaps another girl would have boycotted her mother because of such control, but Milla was an excellent student. And as a result, she became a celebrity!
In almost all of her interviews, Milla recalls what a big role her mother played in the formation of her career. And the girl is grateful to her mentor!
Galina does not regret that she could not realise herself. But her daughter is now happy, and this is the merit of the once ordinary Soviet actress.
