The sales assistant told my wife that she wasn’t pretty enough to work in their shop – I went back a few days later to get my revenge.

A shop assistant dared to bring my wife to tears with her rude behaviour. She did this because my wife was looking for a job in the establishment where she worked. After listening to my wife’s story, I took action to rectify the situation. Because of my actions, the helper will now think twice when she contacts someone else!

This is a gripping story of pure and sweet revenge! My name is Thomas and Emma, my wife, has ALWAYS had an eye for fashion. Her wardrobe is a testament to her impeccable taste. Not that I’m biased or showing off, but my Emma knows everything about the latest trends!

She’s the one who dresses me most of the time. No, not because I’m sexist and think it’s her job, but because she enjoys doing it. And honestly, I look FANTASTIC every time, so I’m not complaining!

For years, my wife has avoided her true passion. She has held a variety of jobs. For example, she was a secretary, a nurse (unfortunately not for long) and even dabbled in art. But she still couldn’t find her place.

Recently, my lovely wife decided to turn her passion for fashion (see what I did) into a career. She started actively looking for a job in retail. She thought it was a perfect fit for her interests.

One day, when she came home feeling very excited, she told me what had happened. Emma explained that on that fateful day she had been at the shopping centre in the afternoon. Then she spotted a well-known lingerie shop with a “Recruitment Announced” poster in the window.

Excited, she narrated: “I immediately went inside to enquire! But I was in for the shock of my life.” She told how her excitement began to subside when she approached the shop assistant and tried to speak to her.

The rude woman didn’t even look in my wife’s direction until she was right in front of her! A little depressed but still enthusiastic, Emma asked about the hiring process. Instead, the assistant looked her over from head to toe, grinned, and said some unpleasant words. Then she uttered stinging words:

“Look, girl, I don’t think you’re pretty enough for the job. NO CHANCE AT ALL. Don’t even try, okay?”

Before she could calm down enough to tell me her story, my beloved wife cried when she got home. She was heartbroken over that cruel remark. I had never seen my wife so devastated before, and my heart broke at the sight of her in such a state.

I put my arms around her, trying to comfort her. “My love, don’t let her possess you. You are beautiful and talented. You are worth so much more than her words,” I said softly. ‘But why is she saying that?’ sobbed Emma. “I just wanted to get a job. I don’t deserve it.”

‘She is an inconsiderate person, my angel,’ I tried to console my wife. Seeing her so depressed made me furious! No one, and I mean NO ONE, should make my Emma feel this way, treat her this badly and let it go unpunished!

And you know what? As my anger took over, I decided it was time to show that nasty saleswoman how wrong she was! I decided to teach the sales assistant a lesson in humility that she would never forget!

Over the next few days I came up with a plan. I contacted my friend Mike, who works in the fashion industry, to ask for his help. Mike happily agreed to help when he heard what had happened.

“That’s unbelievable, man. Of course I’m going to help. Let’s give her a taste of her own medicine,” Mike said over the phone. A few days later, my plan was put into action. With the help of my Emma, I dressed well and headed to the lingerie shop.

I made enquiries and made sure the same sales assistant was working that day. I then started pretending to browse the aisles, waiting for the perfect moment. When there were only a few customers left in the shop, I approached the sales assistant with a friendly smile.

“Hello, I want to buy something special for my wife. Could you please help me choose a few things?” I asked. Her attitude changed immediately, she saw the potential for a big sale. She became attentive and started showing me various items.

“Of course, sir! We have a fantastic selection. What’s the occasion?” – She asked, her tone becoming sweet as we walked round the shop. “Just a surprise for my wife. I want to get her something special,” I replied, pretending to be thoughtful.

“Great! How about this item? It’s one of our most popular items,” she suggested, holding out a delicate lace set. ‘Do you think it will suit her?’ I asked, examining the lingerie. “Oh, definitely! It’s one of our best sellers. Your wife will love it,” she assured me.

“Can you show me some more options? I want to make sure I have the perfect one,” I said without giving her a second thought. While she showed me other things, I made small talk to keep her interest. ‘So, how long have you been working here?’ I inquired.

‘About six months,’ she replied. ‘It’s a great job if you have the right look.’ I nodded, feigning interest. “That’s interesting. Do they hire employees often?”

“Only when they really need someone. They’re picky about who they take on,” she said with a note of pride.

After about thirty minutes, I told her I needed to step outside to call my wife and get her opinion on one of the items. Instead of calling Emma, I called my friend Mike. He arrived quickly to fulfil his part of the plan.

We went back to the shop together. My mate approached the sales assistant and introduced himself. ‘Hi,’ Mike began, extending his hand. ‘I’m Mike Gladstone, a talent acquisition specialist for a major fashion brand.’

He was impressed with the shop and hinted that it was a great place to find new talent. “I was looking for someone with unique looks and a great personality. Do you think you might have someone like that here?”

The assistant’s eyes widened with excitement. “Oh, really? Well, I’ve been told I have great looks for occasions like this,” she said, clearly deciding that this was her big hit. Mike gave her a critical look and shook his head.

‘I’m sorry, but I don’t think you quite fit our requirements,’ he replied. ‘We need someone who will stand out, you know?’ The assistant looked absolutely crushed!

Before she could respond, Mike turned to me. ‘What about you?’ – He asked, gesturing at me. “You have an interesting appearance. Have you ever thought about modelling?” The assistant’s jaw dropped! She was completely stunned!

I smiled and replied, ‘No, but I have someone in mind who would be perfect for your campaign.’ Without wasting a second, I said: “My wife, Emma. She’s amazing, confident and absolutely beautiful inside and out.”

Mike nodded enthusiastically. “I’d really like to meet her. Let’s arrange an interview.” I turned to the assistant, who was pale and visibly trembling. Looking her straight in the eye to get my point across, I said:

“You know, it’s funny how perception can be so deceiving. Maybe next time you’ll think twice before you judge someone by their appearance.”

As we walked out, I could feel the assistant’s eyes burning into my back. Emma met Mike later in life. Although she didn’t pursue a modelling career, the experience gave her a much-needed boost of confidence.

‘So, how did it go?’ I asked my wife when she returned from meeting my friend. “It actually went absolutely amazing! Mike was so kind and professional!” – she enthused. ‘He said I have real potential,’ she said, her face glowing with happiness.

“I told you, honey! You have everything you need,” I replied, hugging her tightly. That night Emma and I sat down to dinner, reflecting on what had happened. ‘I can’t believe you did all this for me,’ she said, holding my hand across the table.

“I would do anything for you, my love. No one has the right to make you feel worse than you are,” I said firmly.

A week later we were at the shopping centre again. This time Emma walked with newfound confidence. When we passed the lingerie shop, I couldn’t help but look inside. The sales assistant was in place and looked like she was still recovering from the shock.

‘Do you want to come in and have a look?’ I teased Emma. She laughed, shaking her head. ‘I’ve had enough of this shop for a lifetime!’ We continued to walk hand in hand, knowing that sometimes the best revenge isn’t just a cunning plan. It lies in lifting up those you love and helping them see their true worth.

That’s my whole story. Sometimes the best way to handle a situation is to make the person realise how wrong they were, in the most public and humiliating way possible. And believe me, I will remember the look on the sales assistant’s face forever!
