The most striking thing was that she came with a noticeably rounded belly to congratulate us on our wedding. Wang’s sudden appearance attracted the attention of the entire hall. Whispers spread instantly — no one understood what was about to happen.
At university, I was a handsome and intelligent young man who was admired by many female students. But I didn’t fall in love with anyone. My family was poor; I had to work part-time every day to pay for my studies, and I had no time for love.
Among the girls who adored me was my classmate Wang. To win my heart, she often bought me food and clothes, and sometimes even paid for my studies.
I didn’t have real feelings for her, but since her family supported my education, I reluctantly agreed to be with her.
After graduating from university, since I wanted to stay in the city, I agreed to marry Wang so that her parents would help me find a job. But living together, I realised that I didn’t really love her at all and even felt disgusted by physical intimacy with her.

We were married for three years and had no children. She constantly asked me to get tested, but I insisted that I was completely healthy and refused to go. By that time, my career had stabilised, and I was no longer dependent on her family. So I decided to end this tasteless marriage and go in search of ‘true love’.
My indifference and coldness eventually pushed her away. She agreed to sign the divorce papers and let me go. After that, I started a relationship with a beautiful business partner whom I had secretly admired for a long time. After spending more than a year together, we decided to get married. I did not send an invitation to my ex-wife, but somehow she still showed up at the wedding — without shame.
The most unexpected thing was that she came with a belly, clearly pregnant, to congratulate us. Her sudden appearance attracted everyone’s attention. Whispers filled the hall — no one knew what was going to happen.
When Wang approached us, she said:
‘If I could go back, I would never have wasted my youth on a man who didn’t love me and only used my money. The biggest regret of my life is that I married you.’

As she was about to leave, the bride suddenly asked:
‘Who is the father of the child you are carrying?’
This question stunned me. My ex-wife and I had been divorced for over a year, so the child was definitely not mine. But then… why hadn’t she gotten pregnant in three years of marriage? Maybe I was infertile?
Without keeping us waiting, Wang turned and said:
‘In three years of marriage, your husband and I did not have children. I asked him many times to get tested, but he always blamed me. However, every time I got tested, everything was fine. After the divorce, I fell in love with another man. And on our first night together, I got pregnant right away.’
Her words stunned the bride so much that she dropped her bouquet. I was completely shocked, not knowing what to do.
After Wang left, I tried to comfort the bride, asking her to calm down and finish the ceremony first. But she refused, saying she wanted to cancel the wedding and take a fertility test with me before deciding on marriage. She said:

‘My brother and his wife were married for nine years and couldn’t have children. They spent a fortune on treatment, but in the end they got divorced anyway. I don’t want to repeat their mistake. A woman loses her value with every failed marriage. I don’t want my first wedding to be to a man who can’t have children.’
I had no right to blame either my ex-wife or my fiancée. My downfall is the result of my own calculations and selfishness. I sowed bitterness and now I am reaping bitterness. If I had at least treated my ex-wife well, I would not be in such a pitiful position today.
