Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, are leading a quiet life away from the royal circle in California. And now the Duchess has shared a rare photo of her four-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, prompting fans to immediately comment on her resemblance to Princess Diana.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves in the global spotlight when they announced their decision to step back from their royal duties in 2020. In January of that year, the couple published a high-profile statement on social media, announcing their intention to ‘step back’.
“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have decided to begin a transition this year to a new, more progressive role within the institution,” their statement read. “We intend to step back from our roles as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family, become financially independent, whilst continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.”
And so ‘Megxit’ became a reality, and Harry and Meghan left the UK to start a completely new life in the US. However, following the accusations the couple levelled at the royal family in an interview, as well as the publication of Harry’s memoir, Spare, attitudes towards the couple have clearly not warmed.
Nevertheless, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have always sought a more private life. As well as buying a house that has been nicknamed ‘Fort Knox’ due to its heavy security, Harry and Meghan have decided not to share too many photos of their children with the public. Their eldest child, son Archie, is now six years old, and their daughter Lilibet is four.

According to a close friend of the family who spoke to People magazine, “Harry is reluctant to show his children to the public not because he wants to hide them, but because he is trying to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats.”
The source also added: “As a father and husband, Harry is determined not to let history repeat itself.”
In the early years of Archie and Lilibet’s lives, the public saw almost no photos of them, but recently Harry and Meghan have begun sharing pictures of their children a little more often. Just recently, at Easter, Meghan posted photos and videos of the children taking part in an Easter egg hunt.
In one of the clips, Archie and Lilibet are holding little baskets and clearly enjoying the Easter game. Lilibet was wearing a pink outfit and cute bunny ears, and both children were laughing and running around the garden near the house.
These images touched the hearts of fans, and many also drew emotional parallels with Princess Diana. The late princess, who tragically died in a car crash in Paris in 1997, was known for her natural and very hands-on approach to parenting.

One fan wrote on Facebook: ‘Oh my goodness, it’s so lovely that you’re making Easter so special for the children! It’s so nice to see the whole family having fun together.’
Another user commented: “Wow, they’re growing up so fast. I really like Lily’s hair.”
A third wrote: “It’s lovely to see little children running around freely and enjoying life, just as any ordinary child should. I hope you found lots of chocolate, Archie and Lily.”
A fourth person noted: “Such lovely children, having fun at Easter with all these activities. A lovely video!” And a fifth added: “May your Easter be as bright and beautiful as these photos!”
Another user pointed out Harry’s resemblance to the children, writing: “Both children have lovely hair colour — clearly from their dad’s side.”
Another commenter compared Lilibet to Princess Diana, writing: “SHE REMINDED ME OF PRINCESS DIANA. REMEMBER WHEN HER CHILDREN HAD A RUNNING COMPETITION AT SCHOOL, SHE TOOK OFF HER SHOES AND RAN BAREFOOT?”
