If one of your friends says he or she has visited 50 countries, you would be amazed, wouldn’t you?
If a person has visited 100 countries, it’s hard to believe.
But this girl has traveled to every country in the world and became the first woman to do so, the youngest American and the person to visit 196 countries on the planet the fastest. Well, that’s impressive!
But that’s exactly what Cassandra Da Pecol has done. The 27-year-old from Connecticut has visited 181 countries since she started traveling in July 2015. With only 15 countries and 40 days to go, she will set a new Guinness World Record as the person who visited all sovereign nations ( plus 11 more countries ) the fastest.
Her amazing journey is called Expedition196″ and she is traveling as a peace ambassador on behalf of the International Institute for Peace through Tourism.
We probably won’t be able to follow in her footsteps on this journey, but we can at least take a look at photos of her inspiring journey via Instagram.
Would you like to visit every country in the world?
Well, that’s exactly what Cassandra De Pecol is doing!
Her amazing journey is called Expedition196.
It all started in Palau back in July 2015.
And since then, she has already traveled to 181 countries.
She might be the first woman confirmed to travel to all 196 countries in the world.
Cassandra only has 15 countries left to visit, in the next 40 days.
If she does, she will set a new Guinness record and become the person to visit all sovereign nations, the fastest.
She is traveling as a peace ambassador on behalf of the International Institute for Peace through Tourism.
Her trip cost nearly $200,000, but so far those expenses are being covered by sponsors.
She also uses her Instagram as a platform to advertise in exchange for free accommodation.
She’s only 27, but she’s already seen more than most of us will see in a lifetime.
From meeting lion cubs.
And skiing in the mountains of Colorado.
And, ending up relaxing on the beach in Kiribati.
And enjoying beautiful sights, such as this view of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Cassandra doesn’t go anywhere without her camera.
And, of course, without her map!
