It’s hard to believe that Madonna is already 66 years old. It seems like the Queen of Pop appeared on the scene only yesterday, and since then she has been delighting millions of people around the world every year.
Madonna is currently on her long-awaited Celebration Tour, having recovered from an unpleasant bacterial infection that led to her hospitalisation earlier this year.
Recent photos of the Like a Virgin singer have been met with widespread approval among her fans, as the 66-year-old continues to prove that age is just a number… and that she is far from ceasing to be a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
Fans had reason to be concerned earlier this summer when Madonna was suddenly hospitalised.
Initial reports were quite alarming, but it soon became clear that her health problems were more serious than they initially appeared.
The Queen of Pop was set to kick off her long-awaited Celebration Tour in Vancouver on 15 July, during which she was to perform her greatest hits from 1983 to the present at 53 concerts across North America and Europe, but was forced to postpone it after being rushed to hospital with a bacterial infection.
According to initial reports, Madonna was found unconscious on Saturday, 24 June, and was subsequently taken to a New York hospital, where she was intubated.
Shortly afterwards, a relative of the Grammy Award winner told Entertainment Tonight that her family had been ‘preparing for the worst’ after the initial news broke. ‘For the last few days, no one knew which way things would turn, and her family was preparing for the worst,’ they said.
‘That’s why everything has been kept secret since Saturday,’ they added. ‘Everyone believed we could lose her, and that was the reality.’
Radar Online, meanwhile, reported that Madonna’s hospital stay was more serious than initially thought — medics who treated the unconscious star at her flat were reportedly forced to administer a NARCAN injection.
Fortunately, the singer was eventually discharged from hospital and was able to continue her recovery at home. Her aforementioned Celebration Tour is now in full swing, and the Vogue star has received widespread praise for her appearance after posting a series of photos from the tour.
Madonna’s Paris leg of the tour reportedly drew particular attention, with fans showering her with compliments. One even called her ‘the most beautiful woman in the world.’
One person wrote on Twitter: ‘How does this woman look at sixty-five? Please share your secrets with us and your filter. QUEEN?’
Another wrote: ‘You look like a 35-year-old woman.’
A third added: ‘The most famous woman ever to stand in front of a camera. Still the most exotic, the most seductive of anyone I’ve ever seen ❤️?’
Famous fashion designer Donatella Versace, meanwhile, praised her longtime friend, calling her ‘the most beautiful.’
