After moving to South Florida at the age of 13, Kai felt right at home at The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach.
This school is known for producing golf royalty: famous players such as Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman send their children there. Not to mention that Charlie Woods, son of Tiger Woods, is also part of the school’s golf scene and helped the university team win the state championship as a freshman.
But Kai is not only excelling at school golf.
Earlier this year, she won the women’s club championship at Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, proving that she is a serious contender.
‘Golf has always been an important part of my life and my greatest passion. I always strive to be a leader and a positive role model both on and off the golf course,’ says Kai’s biography on the SportsRecruits website.
Admission to the University of Miami
There is no doubt that Kai Trump is serious about a career in golf.
Her Instagram account, kaitrumpgolfer, clearly shows that she identifies herself as a golfer, at least on social media.
In August 2024, she shared another exciting piece of news with her followers — the 17-year-old announced her intention to join the University of Miami women’s golf team.
‘I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Miami,’ Kai wrote in the caption. “I would like to thank my mum Vanessa and my dad Don for always supporting me on my journey. I would also like to thank my wonderful team for helping me achieve this.”
Kay did not forget to thank her grandfather, Donald Trump, in her post.

Intense battles with her grandfather
Kay Trump clearly spends a lot of time on the golf course with her grandfather.
Her Instagram is full of photos of the two of them swinging their clubs and laughing on the course. But what really happens on those fairways?
According to Kai, when she plays against her grandfather, the competition gets pretty intense. In July, in a conversation with YouTube blogger Grant Horvat, she joked about how fierce the competition gets when they play together.
‘It’s fierce competition,’ she said with a smile, hinting that Donald Trump is not one to let his granddaughter win, even if she is a member of the family!
‘To be honest, he always gives me a good fight. The results are pretty close,’ she said.
‘The game never ends, and I won on the 15th hole. He wins very often. I have to admit that. I need to get better.’
Nothing has changed
In the video with Grant Horvat, Kai took part in a stroke play golf match at Trump National in Jupiter, Florida.
Naturally, many were curious to hear what she had to say about her famous grandfather, but what really caught people’s attention was how sincere and down-to-earth Kai seems.

Perhaps her calm demeanour can be explained by the fact that it has always been normal for Kai to grow up in the spotlight.
‘It never changed me. I’m still very down-to-earth, that’s all I’ve known my whole life,’ she said.
Is she going to go into politics?
At the same time, Kai has always preferred not to draw attention to herself.
For those who are not very familiar with her and can remember her surname, Kai can live a fairly anonymous life without being immediately associated with her influential family.
“I fit in with my surroundings. You wouldn’t guess it, and I like it that way,” she explains.
But after her speech at the Republican National Convention, everything changed.
Her phone was ringing off the hook, and she suddenly found herself in the headlines, especially after her grandfather, Donald Trump, won the election. Of course, she congratulated him, and judging by Kai’s Instagram photos, they meet often.
However, in an interview with Grant Horvath, Kai made it clear that politics is not her forte (at least not yet). She is focused on her golf career and aspires to become a professional.
