It’s a place Londoners have completely overlooked. The basement near Hyde Park used to be just like an abandoned building. As the story goes, it was the remains of a public toilet that had been out of use for many years.
But six years ago, the place got a new lease of life. Before that, the basement was full of rubbish. Stray animals lived there to hide from the rain and cold. If it wasn’t for Laura Clark, nothing would have changed. However, the ambitious architect decided to take this project into her own hands.
She decided to buy out an old abandoned toilet. The woman was not embarrassed by the fact that the room was in such a ruined state. There was rubbish everywhere, and animal tracks were a reminder of what was going on in the basement. All in all, the sight was not for the faint of heart.
Few people would dare to buy this space, but Laura was willing to take the risk. She knew that she would succeed and make this pile of rubbish into a real eye-candy. Clearly, without desire and effort, she wouldn’t have succeeded.
The underground toilet has not worked since the 80s. All this time the room stood unattended – even the local authorities were not interested in it. Laura decided that this basement could be turned into a café or coffee shop.
However, the woman soon changed her mind. She had to convert the basement into a flat, because the local authorities were against the idea of having a public place on the site of the former public toilet. By the way, Laura did not regret that she changed her decision at the last moment.

Laura actually made a very favourable investment and saved a lot of money. She would have had to pay 5 times as much to buy a flat in a normal house with the same area.
People who did not see what the room looked like before the transformation could not believe that the photo was true. The transformation is really radical.
Laura herself is surprised by the result. Everything turned out better than she expected. She is glad that her efforts are justified.
