Chingachgook — a symbol of masculine beauty: how his life turned out years later

Goiko Mitic, an actor from Yugoslavia, was passionate about sports from an early age. He played handball, volleyball and rowed, even making it onto the national rowing team. Mitic’s family lived in financial hardship, and to support the household, the young man worked at a film studio, performing various stunts.

His popularity soon grew thanks to his role as Chingachgook in the film Chingachgook: The Great Snake. This image of a courageous, strong hero appealed to viewers of all ages: boys imitated his gestures and facial expressions, and women admired his physical form. Soviet audiences gave the film a particularly warm reception, and the actor gained many fans.

As for Mitich’s personal life, although he never married, he has a daughter whom he raised with an Italian woman. The actor was 50 years old when his daughter was born. Today, his daughter is 32, and they have a close relationship.

At 83, Gojko looks much younger than his age. According to him, the secret to his youth lies in his grandmother’s words about a real man — masculine and healthy. Mitic continues to actively participate in sports, including diving to a depth of 30 metres. He prefers to talk about his personal life with a smile, mentioning that he has a beloved, but her name remains a secret.
