She learnt about Charlie’s achondroplasia at a fairly young age. It’s a common form of dwarfism. Her husband has a slightly different diagnosis. It’s less common in medicine – hypochondroplasia.
Because their diagnoses are partly genetic, the decision to become parents was a risky one. Doctors warned them that the consequences could be dire.
However, Charlie and her chosen one decided to start a family and continue their lineage anyway.
The doctors said that there was only a 25 per cent chance that they would have a normal baby. Not only that, there was a risk that the baby would not survive at all. Dwarfism is not the worst diagnosis their shared child could have had.
However, in 2015, Charli still took a chance and got pregnant.
The baby girl was born with the same diagnosis as her mum. She has achondroplasia.
After the birth of Tilba, the couple created their own account and decided to take up blogging. They wanted to tell about the life of dwarfs and the upbringing of a special child.
Tilba grew up an incredibly beautiful girl. She simply fascinated with her charm. However, parents had to protect their daughter in every possible way from haters, who poured angry comments on the little girl.
And despite the disappointing predictions of doctors, Charlie decided to have another baby. The baby was born with the same form of dwarfism. Parents were morally prepared for this, so they were not upset.
They now have about 300,000 subscribers. Charlie tries to dispel myths that dwarfs live an inferior life. She doesn’t like the fact that many people have preconceived notions about short people. She is morally supportive of other dwarfs who have also been diagnosed with such pathology.
Their life is made up of pleasant moments and difficulties.
Charlie’s family is no different from others. That is why they decided to have a third pregnancy to experience all these emotions again. According to the woman, no pain and fainting can compare to the happiness that a mother feels when she holds her newborn child in her arms.
