One of the happiest days in our lives is a wedding. What can be more touching than those moments when the groom carries the smiling bride out of the registry office in his arms, and the guests applaud and wish them happiness? In this story everything happened a little differently, that’s why it travelled around the world, touching the hearts of many, collecting millions of likes and heartfelt comments. At this wedding, the bride carried her husband in her arms…the bride.

Jesse wanted to be in the military since childhood. In 2003 he joined the Marines, but 6 years later while serving in Afghanistan he was caught in the middle of an explosion. Doctors had to amputate both of the guy’s legs.

‘I was conscious the whole time,’ Jesse recalls. – It was hard, first of all, morally. But my family supported me all the time. Thanks to my family’s genuine support and belief in the best, I was able to get through it all.’


Jesse accepted his new body and learned to lead an active lifestyle even without his legs. He met his future wife, Kelly, at a swimming competition. They immediately fell in love with each other and were soon married


When the couple shared their wedding photos on Facebook, they drew widespread admiration. People from all over the world expressed words of support and delight to the young couple. But the lovers do not see their situation as anything special.

‘We are just like many other couples,’ Jesse and Kelly declare.
