Expanding your family as a parent is always a good feeling, especially if it’s with someone you love and are on the same page with.
Alec Baldwin married his wife Hilaria in 2012, and since then, the two of them have been expanding their family …

Alec Baldwin met his wife Hilaria Baldwin in 2011 and married her the following year, 2012.
The couple wasted no time in starting a family and in 2013 they had their first child. They then had four more children and their sixth child was born with the help of a surrogate.
In April 2021, they shared the news that they were expecting their seventh child – people were thrilled for the couple and excited to see their wonderful family continue to grow.
Hilaria excitedly shared the news of her daughter’s arrival on her Instagram account. She posted a selection of photos and videos on her page with the caption, “She’s here! We are so excited to introduce you to our tiny dream, Hilaria Catalina Irene.”
Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have faced criticism after the birth of their seventh child
This is Alec Baldwin’s eighth child, but his seventh with his current wife Hilaria. He shares his eldest daughter, Ireland Baldwin, with his ex-wife Kim Basinger.
In the above Instagram post, Hilaria shared some details about the addition to her and Alec’s family. She wrote that their daughter was born on September 22, 2022 weighing 6 pounds and 13 ounces. She added: “Both she and I are happy and healthy.”
She then made another post in which she talked about how excited her other children are about the addition to their family, writing, “Her Baldwino siblings spend the day bonding and welcoming her into our home.”

At the end of the caption, she added: “Much love to you all. We are so happy to celebrate this wonderful news with you.”
The couple released an official announcement of the baby’s birth via People magazine, which reads as follows: “With what gratitude we welcome our new little daughter into the world. She is just as magical and filled with love as all the other little people we have been blessed with.”
While the couple naturally adore their family, Hilaria Baldwin recently shared that not everyone understands why she’s so… well, big. In a recent post, she wrote, “7th child: when people ask or comment, we often devolve into silly and very self-deprecating jokes on my part. I like to laugh at myself, so it’s all good…keeps me sane. However, all jokes aside, I am grateful for the experience.”
She further clarified her thoughts, saying: “I know all too well the joys and losses, the beauty and heartache that motherhood brings. I have learned to respect and embrace the beautiful, the difficult, the uncomfortable, the magical and the unknown in this incredible process that I have the good fortune to experience over and over again.”
The couple is clearly happy with their family and practically glowing about their addition, but not everyone congratulated them. In fact, some people had something to say about their newborn’s name: Hilaria Catalina Irena Baldwin.
Hilaria and Alec Baldwin are known for choosing unique names for their children, often with Spanish roots. However, after it was revealed that Hilaria is not of Spanish descent, and the ensuing controversy surrounding her alleged use of a fake Spanish accent and misrepresentation of her heritage in 2020, people were shocked by the name they gave their seventh child.
“Her blatant attempt to be Spanish is really annoying, why is this okay? Why does she keep trying? Are they really that triggered,” someone wrote.
Another person wrote on Twitter, “Fake Spanish name from a Boston-born mom,” while another echoed him, “Hilaria and Alec Baldwin had their 7th child. Not a single American name, not even a middle name.”
A third said: “Alec Baldwin’s wife pretending to be Spanish is just crazy. Changed her name from Hillary to Hilaria, named all 7 of her kids with those roots, pretends she forgot the English word for cucumber, fakes an accent. She should have changed her name to ‘Hilarious’.”
However, some people pointed out that Ilaria is actually Italian for “Hilary.” It means “cheerful” and was one of the most popular Italian names for girls in 2006.
