The baby was very emaciated, so Arthur couldn’t leave him behind.
Arthur swam in a kayak to take colourful pictures. Then on a small island he saw a skinny dog. It was hiding behind some branches. The animal looked very pitiful and hungry.
The dog wagged its tail when it saw the man, though it was very weak. The little one was shivering from the cold and breathing very hard. Every rib could be seen through his skin.
How did he even end up here? How long had he been living without people? Clearly, these questions remained unanswered. There was no way the young man could abandon the poor animal. He was responsible for the fate of the dog.
As Arthur later recalled, he felt so much excitement that he thought his heart was about to burst out.
Arthur hurried over to the dog. He wanted to help her faster.
On the island he shouted loudly, hoping that there were people somewhere. But there was not a soul around. The dog was alone here. The man picked up the animal in his arms and carried it into the kayak. He realised that he had very little time.
Arthur warmed and fed the dog. And then he remembered that there might be difficulties because he was sailing in Central America. The man realised he needed to take the dog to the vet, but how to make sure there were no problems?
In twenty-four hours the man had to return. He didn’t even think about abandoning the dog.
People who cared about him decided to help him. Someone brought food, and someone helped to take Bari to the doctor. The vet took all the necessary tests to check the baby’s health. He had a lot of fleas, so he had to be treated and bathed properly.
A few hours later, Arthur was forced to return to the hotel. Bari stayed at the clinic. The doctor promised to inform the man about the dog’s condition.
There turned out to be no serious health problems with the dog – it was only necessary to fatten him up. Arthur was happy, but worried about what to do next. He started looking for people who were willing to take the dog in, at least temporarily.
That’s how Melanie became a ‘foster mum’ for the dog. Bari was with her for two months. She constantly sent Arthur photos and videos. The animal was actively gaining weight. The baby was very contactable and affectionate, and behaved well, without causing trouble to the temporary mistress.
Bari looked very handsome. The fear in his eyes was also gone. Now his ears steadfastly picked up every sound, instead of clamping down from pain and hunger.
A few months later Arthur took the dog back. Their meeting at the airport was a sight to see. Just tears flowing.
Arthur was actually very worried that the dog wouldn’t remember him. Bari really looked confused for the first few minutes, but then he started sniffing Arthur actively. He remembered him and started to get excited.
They lived together in Montana, because that’s where Arthur worked. After the hot climate, it was stressful for the dog to plunge into winter. But soon Bari adapted.
The man repeatedly says that the meeting with Bari was fateful. They did not just meet for nothing. Arthur says that the dog saved him from loneliness, and he saved her from death.
That’s the kind of story that happens in life. The guy, even though he was in a foreign country, he didn’t abandon the foundling. He deserves respect. Isn’t he?
