At first, the man travelled all over South Africa. He had just a sea of impressions. He really liked the colourful metropolises. He took a lot of wonderful photos, which caused nostalgia when he arrived home.
However, John soon realised that there was the other side of the coin. He wanted to know how people in poor countries lived. He had no idea that a trip to Somalia would change his life so dramatically. When he saw a little girl in the middle of a dirty street, he knew he wanted to help her.
The little child was sitting all alone. John decided to take a picture. He wanted to give this photo to the girl’s parents. But then the man learnt from the locals that the little girl was an orphan. Her mum and dad had died, so no one was really involved in her upbringing.
The little girl ate what she found on the street. Kind people fed her, of course, but everyone there had problems with food. All the locals were too poor to share their food. John looked at all this and could not believe that such a thing could happen in the modern world.
Neighbours told him that the girl had been living on the streets for six months. He realised that he had to save this child. There were no other options.
The man realised that the locals were barely nursing their children, so they would not strain to help her. He set about doing the paperwork. John decided to adopt the little girl. It was very difficult, since the girl did not understand English at all.
However, the man for all the years never once regretted his decision. Now this girl is already 22 years old. She is just an incredible beauty. John’s daughter is studying at university and practically does not remember anything from her past life.
