Marina covered her face with her hands.
God… I accused you of something terrible… I’m so sorry. Both to you, Alexei, and to you, Mum.
Alexei took a deep breath.
‘Mum, you have to tell my father about this. He needs to know.
Valentina hesitated, but then agreed. When she called Peter and told him the truth, he was stunned.
