It has emerged that Bruce Willis did not recognise Demi Moore. This happened during one of the visits by the ‘Die Hard’ star’s ex-wife. The reason, unfortunately, is linked to the actor’s serious illness. As is well known, he has been battling aphasia since March 2022. As always, we will provide further details in the coming minutes.

Bruce Willis failed to recognise Demi Moore
For over a year now, the Hollywood action star has been suffering from frontotemporal dementia. The illness has affected Bruce Willis so severely that he has even had to end his acting career. However, it appears the situation is getting worse by the day. He is forgetting not only his friends, but even his ex-wife.

An insider told Closer magazine about this. According to him, Demi Moore recently visited her ex-husband’s home. The actress had just returned from a summer holiday in Italy. But imagine her shock when the ‘Die Hard’ star asked who was standing in front of him.

“Demi keeps in touch with his children and Bruce’s wife, Emma Heming. She had no idea the illness had affected him so badly. Demi said he really didn’t recognise her,” the source told journalists. Yet the couple were married for 13 years. During their marriage, they had three daughters: Rumer, Scout and Talulah.
The illness is progressing every day

Of course, few could have imagined that the condition had progressed so far and was continuing to develop at such an alarming rate. It is well known that dementia can affect not only personality changes but also cause serious cognitive impairments, as well as sudden mood swings. As for Bruce having forgotten his ex-wife, the explanation is simple: during the time he hasn’t seen Demi, his memories of her may simply have faded from his mind.

Fortunately, Willis still recognises his children and his wife Emma Heming. Moreover, he is delighted by visits from his eldest daughter Rumer and his granddaughter Luetta. As is well known, the little girl was born on 18 April 2023. But even such small joys are unable to lessen the impact of dementia on the actor’s condition.

Due to his illness, the Hollywood action star often experiences bouts of aggression. Furthermore, one cannot fail to mention the physical frailty that also makes itself felt from time to time. “Dementia is very hard. It’s hard for the person diagnosed. And it’s just as hard for their family. When people say it’s a disease that affects the whole family, that’s exactly how it is,” Emma Heming admitted in a recent interview.
