Nowadays, everyone is actively imposing strange beauty standards on each other. Not only that, but many people deliberately use computer programmes to artificially enhance their appearance and impress their followers. In the past, only true professionals used Photoshop to slightly retouch the appearance of models who graced the covers of glossy magazines. But what about now? People refuse to accept natural beauty because of filters, plastic surgery and injections.
Of course, another problem is that plastic surgery has become too accessible. Whereas previously only Michael Jackson and Madonna could afford it, now one in ten people go under the surgeon’s knife for plastic surgery. Hence the nostalgia for the 90s, when female beauty was natural. Women were not ashamed of their bodies and did not hide behind filters, as they had no self-esteem issues. Modern young ladies should learn from them.
