There’s a reason why they say true love always lives on – and these two parents from Ohio are definitely representations of that. It all began when Jeffrey Agan, Sr. and Lorrie Spahn Agan divorced in 2014 after 25 years of marriage.
The final years of their union were filled with tears, turmoil, and heartbreak. When they decided to split up, the entire family felt torn apart and no one knew how to cope. However, just three years after their divorce, Jeffrey did something that took the Internet (and their family) by surprise…
After their divorce, Jeffrey and Lorrie decided to do some soul-searching. Lorrie traveled to a rustic sweat lodge and opted to find herself through nature while Jeffrey pursued a new career and explored poetry.
The years they spent apart helped them grow as healthy individuals – and when the time felt right, Jeffrey asked his former wife out on a date. Their relationship continued to blossom and within a few months, Jeffrey realized he made a huge mistake by agreeing to a divorce.
That’s why he planned something incredible for Lorrie’s Christmas present. The couple’s son, Jeffrey Jr., shared what happened on Christmas morning with the Love What Matters Facebook page:
«My parents were married for more than 20 years, divorced, fought a lot, went to work on themselves. Years later, they start dating and as of yesterday, this happened… Congrats Mom and Dad! True love always finds its way back around.»
Jeffrey got down on one knee and presented Lorrie with a ring. She was the love of his life and he didn’t want to spend another minute without her by his side!
Within minutes of Jeffrey Jr. posting the video online, millions of people had viewed, shared and commented on it. Jeffrey Sr. told TODAY that he hopes their story can inspire other people to follow their hearts and believe in true love:
«So many people are going through painful experiences. So, I think what’s touched so many people about this video is there’s definite proof with this video that true love exists. And that true love eventually will find its way — sometimes it just takes a little while and there might be a couple of detours.»
We wish Jeffrey and Lorrie nothing but a lifetime of happiness, respect, and love!
